Rebecca Ordish will be teaching Constitutional Law II and Philosophy of Life and Lifestyle to BBM,LL.B students in 2016. She will also be editing the Kathmandu University Law School Journal as well.

Rebecca is an Australian lawyer. She has 13 years of experience advising clients on law especially intellectual property protection and commercialisation strategies across Asia Pacific, including 4 years working on the ground in China. She has worked with companies in a broad range of industries to set up IP protection, enforcement and commercialisation programs, particularly in China and India but also in other Asia Pacific countries, in the following roles:

  • Cadbury Schweppes, Senior IP Counsel, Asia Pacific, Singapore, Oct 2008 – Apr 2010
  • Diageo, Intellectual Property Counsel, Greater China, Shanghai, Nov 2006 – Aug 2008
  • (Mars, Incorporated – Licensing Co-ordinator, Asia Pacific – seconded part-time for 5 years while at Baker & McKenzie & Rouse)
  • Rouse & Co, International, Shanghai – Senior Consultant, Jan 2005 – Oct 2006
  • Baker & McKenzie, Sydney – Associate, Jan 2001 – Dec 2004 (including 3 months in the Singapore office working on Indonesia/Malaysia/Singapore IP issues)

As a legal professional, she aims to demystify intellectual property for both businesses and lawyers and also coaching lawyers on client relationships, developing creative practices and how to manage working with/in Asia. She also consults with companies on their CSR programs based on her experience in the development industry and conducts a number of training programs on work/life balance, stress management, leadership and client management.
